Only white people can afford to think race doesn’t matter. Only cis men can afford to think gender doesn’t matter. Only straight people can afford to think sexuality doesn’t matter. Only the able-bodied, only the neurotypical, only the educated, the comfortably-middle-class-and-above… I could go on. And still: Only the represented can afford to think representation doesn’t matter.
