Have they ever SEEN the internet, and how many content creators are doing it for the joy of just creating? There’d be music, films, books, radio… it just wouldn’t be the industry/commercial stuff!

Sssh. Don’t tell the culture industry moguls they don’t actually have a stranglehold on all creative output. You’ll hurt their widdle feefees.

That being said, it’s not really about everyone doing it “for the joy of it”; there’s nothing inherently wrong with an artist getting remuneration for their creative efforts. It’s when all the dour suits in the middle start thinking the profits are more important than the product that we start getting a problem…
